PayBelgium hosts workshop on DORA compliance in practice
PayBelgium, in collaboration with PayInnovate and Complissimo, was pleased to welcome payment and e-money institutions to a practical workshop on DORA compliance in practice: from regulatory expectations to operational implementation, held in Brussels.
With the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) now in force for almost a year, the workshop focused on how regulatory requirements translate into day-to-day operational realities for financial institutions. Discussions centered on governance, ICT risk management, cybersecurity, tooling oversight, and supervisory reporting, offering participants concrete insights into building auditable and sustainable compliance frameworks.
A key highlight of the session was the presentation by Sophie Peeters (PayInnovate & Complissimo), who shared insights from recent exchanges and sessions with the National Bank of Belgium on DORA. Her intervention provided valuable perspective on supervisory expectations and emerging points of attention for institutions subject to the framework.
The workshop further featured Michael Boeynaems (Splynter & Complissimo), who discussed key lessons learned from implementing DORA’s cybersecurity and information security requirements in practice, followed by Filip Meire (Complissimo), who addressed the operational challenges of translating regulation into execution, with a focus on tooling oversight and reporting processes.
The morning concluded with an open and interactive discussion, allowing participants to exchange experiences, raise practical questions, and reflect on implementation challenges, followed by a networking lunch.
PayBelgium thanks PayInnovate and Complissimo for the strong collaboration, the speakers for sharing their hands-on expertise, and all participants for their active engagement. PayBelgium looks forward to continuing to support its members through expert-driven discussions and practical exchanges as the DORA framework and supervisory expectations further evolve.
