On 15 December 2020, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) published its final guidelines on the interplay of PSD2 and GDPR. During this webinar, Scott McInnes and Julien Sad from Bird & Bird will explain the positions the European Banking Authority (EBA) has taken on the obligations of account servicing payment service providers when applying strong customer authentication (SCA) in a TPP context. They will also explain the EBA’s position on the limits for TPPs to continue to use certain technologies that prevailed prior to the entry into force of PSD2 (screen scraping, reverse engineering) to access non-payment accounts in light of the SCA requirement to access payment accounts.
